The Shimano SLX DC Fishing Reel is one of the latest reels in the hugely popular SLX series. With a reputation for value and ease of use, the SLX DC benefits from SHIMANO’s i-DC4 Digital Control casting system that automatically maximises casting performance across a wide range of lines, fishing conditions and lure casting techniques. The SLX DC is compact, smooth and unmatched in terms of value. The SLX DC retains all of the qualities of the original SLX models and gains SHIMANO’s i-DC4 Digital Control. This brilliant technology can be set in one of 4 modes to maximise your casting performance, whilst at the same time reducing over-runs. Available in all sizes the 150/151 sizes offer great all round versatility, whilst the smaller 70/71 size featuring the MGL III spool is perfect for casting lighter lures and lighter lines. The i-DC4 Digital Control, exclusive to Shimano, has 4 casting settings to choose from. Mode 1 is the setting to achieve maximum distance (least amount of magnetic braking). Mode 2 is designed specifically for managing braided lines. Mode 3 for fluorocarbon or stiffer lines. Mode 4 offers maximum control (largest amount of magnetic braking) for applications like skipping. Once set, the onboard microcomputer, which is self-powered by generating its own electricity, does all of the work, leaving you to take aim and cast. Since the spool breaking is magnetic and the whole system is powered by the rotation of the spoo,l very little maintenance is required and as a result this Baitcaster reel is incredibly durable and reliable. Like all SLX models, the aluminium HAGANE Body creates the perfect frame for the precision gearing, and the aluminum S3D spool reduces vibration on the cast and when retrieving.
