Shimano Purist BX3 Barbel Rod, The Purist BX3 Barbel rod range has been designed without compromise to offer serious barbel anglers a combination of the best fish-playing and casting actions with custom built cosmetics. If you are serious about barbel fishing and are looking for a rod that matches you dedication and ability, the Purist BX3 should be a strong consideration. There are four models in the range to cover everything from small intimate river fishing with small leads and feeders, up to the largest of rivers using large leads, PVA bags and outsized feeders. All models have 3K carbon weave reinforcement on the butt section for enhanced power, combined with a progressive taper action for failsafe fish-playing. The Purist BX3 Barbel is built on a high quality full carbon blank that offers a fantastic combination of lightness, balance and hidden power. The butt sections are reinforced with 3K carbon weave for increased strength and combine seamlessly with the fine-tuned tip section which is designed to enhance bite detection and compensate for powerful lunges, especially at close range. The lightest 1.75lb model is perfect for the small river specialist, the mid-range 2.25lb is a great all-rounder and the two Intensity models will cope with the largest rivers in the most extreme conditions. All models are fitted with a classic full cork handle with rubberised detailing, custom DPS reel seat and Shimano Hardlite guides. As a final touch of class the tip has a short white section for better visibility and the handle is finished with an alloy butt cap.
