The new Shimano Curado DC is a brand new reel which features a DC braking system in a lower price class. The I-DC4 braking system will help the angler to cast better and reduces the change of backlash. The total of 6 + 1 ball bearings in combination with MicroModule makes the reel run insanely smooth. And due to the combination of a Magnumlite spool + Superfree spool system and the I-DC4 braking system, the angler will even be able to cast and fish also small lures for e.g. bass, perch or zander. The i-DC4 Digital Control, exclusive toShimano, has 4 casting mode settings to choose from: Mode 1 is the setting to achieve maximum distance (least amount of magnetic braking). Mode 2 is designed specifically for managing braided lines. Mode 3 for fluorocarbon or stiffer lines. Mode 4 offers maximum control (largest amount of magnetic braking) for applications like skipping. Once set, the onboard microcomputer, which is self-powered by generating its own electricity, does all of the work, leaving you to take aim and cast. Since the spool breaking is magnetic and the whole system is powered by the rotation of the spool, very little maintenance is required.
Like all Curado models, the aluminium HAGANE Body creates the perfect frame for the precision gearing, and the aluminum S3D spool reduces vibration on the cast and when retrieving.
