Designed for anglers who wanted all the benefits of the Aero concept design but in a smaller package, the Aero 2500 FA HG is perfect for fishing on small waters. Able to balance perfectly on shorter rods, the Aero 2500 FA HG is ideal for commercial match fishing and feeder fishing.
Still boasting an oversized AR-C spool that lets you cast as far as you like, the Aero 2500 FA aids casting accuracy. AR-C spools are famous for having a large diameter and this comes into full play when you activate the front drag, with increased effect at lighter settings. Aero Wrap II ensures you get superb line lay each time, even when you’re using a heavier monofilament line.
This is the high gear version of the Aero 2500 FA, offering you an incredibly powerful retrieve rate of 6:1. This translates into almost one meter of line return per handle turn. This makes it the ideal reel for float fishing work. It also comes with two spool reducers, enabling you to fish on smaller waters with confidence.
Like many of Shimano’s mid-range reels the Aero 2500 FA HG is manufactured from XT-7. XT-7 is Shimano’s go to carbon composite construction material as it offers a lightweight, durable, and robust alternative to metals. The spool is constructed from cold forged aluminium, as is the spare spool which comes supplied as standard. This reel has been built to last as long as you do on the bank and features three S-A-RB bearings as well as one standard roller bearing. These work to reduce friction on the reel, extending its lifespan, as well as ensuring this reel performs smoothly when you need it most. You’re able to access the internal mechanisms of the reel easily via the handy maintenance port and the front drag is completely waterproof.
