Rovex, the manufacturer of the late, great John Wilson’s Avon Quiver rod believes it to be the best-selling rod of all time. The rod has been available for many years and naturally it improves with each version, in its latest guise the rod is incredibly versatile. The basic rod is 11ft/3.4m and is sold with two tips, an Avon tip and a Quiver tip, which has three push-in quivers rated 1.5oz (red), 2oz (green) and 2.5oz (yellow). Being a travel rod, the Avon Travel rod breaks down into five equal sized pieces and is provided in a smart looking cloth lined rod tube with zip.
Thanks to the versatility of the rod, it’s a great allrounder and ideal for a number of angling environments, an afternoon on the river, a day ticket on a commercial venue or it could be a great holiday rod.
The Rovex Avon rod sports a high-grade cork handle giving it that classic look, splitting the handle is a DPS style reel seat which is sure to anchor down your reel and minimise any lateral movement. The blank features minimal branding but does feature John Wilson’s signature at the base of the blank, the blank itself has a carbon finish complimented with black whippings.
