To identify the section you need, count back down to the butt section, which is the number 9 section on a 13m pole; make sure to count your match or power top kits, even if you don't use them - if you fish without these top sections, your number 4 section doesn't become a number 3 section!
Pole sections can become damaged over time, whether through knocks and bumps in transit, or the friction involved in shipping, so investing in official spare sections from your pole manufacturer is a sensible choice that increases the life of your pole.
