The Dave Harrell No.1 Sensitip Waggler Float is the perfect fishing float for those looking to fish further out so need a thick tip, but a float that is incredibly sensitive to show up even the smallest indications. Ideal for use with smaller lines when fishing for smaller species on both rivers and still waters.
The tip of these waggler floats features a fluted insert that makes these floats extremely visible, as it gives the illusion of a thick tip at distance and can be seen easily even when dotted down to a pimple, but is actually very sensitive with very little resistance to a fish. This insert also helps to increase accuracy and distance as it acts like a dart flight on the cast. These waggler floats are best used with very little shot down the line and fished with the depth set off the bottom. Dave Harrell recommends using a simple shotting pattern as the float with most of the shot around the base of the float with only a few no.8 or no.10 shot equally spaced down the line and the bottom shot no more than 8-10 inches from the hook. Dave Harrell has used a straight body down from the tip of these waggler floats to further ensure the float casts accurately and offers minimal resistance on the bite. This unique float has been developed for use on stillwaters and slow moving rivers. The crosshead insert gives an illusion of a solid colour at distance but because of the shape its ultra sensitive. This means less resistance to fish and more time for you to hit the bite!
The insert can be used as it comes or trimmed down carefully with a sharp blade or scissors. Weve left the inserts orange or yellow but these can be modified by using black paint or a marker pen to reduce the amount of colour.
Recommended shotting for these floats is with the majority of the shot locking the float onto the line and a No8 shot down the line for every two-feet of water.
