The Seahunter Z series is one of Daiwa’s most prolific sea fishing rodseries around and offers options for anglers who like to target a variety of fish with a variety of different reel options and casting styles. Why is the range so broad? Daiwa realised that, despite the UK having such a small land mass (on the global scale) we have an awful lot of coastline. Not only that, but our coastline is just about as varied as it gets – from long stretches of sandy beaches to jagged cliff faces meeting the crashing sea, we have it all around our tiny island. Daiwa knew that it would be impossible to create one, or two, or even three rods that would do it all. This is why there are no fewer than 11 different rods in Daiwa’s Seahunter Z range – each with its own specific purpose in mind.
These are the Seahunter Z Bass rods and, as the name betrays, these rods have been designed specifically with bass fishing in mind. There are two options in this range, one of which comes in two pieces and is 11ft 6” in length. This rod has a recommended casting weight of between 2oz – 4oz and it has been designed to be paired with a classic fixed spool sea fishing reel. The other rod in the range is slightly shorter, at 11ft, and, like the first rod, it features a fixed spool setup. However, what really sets this rod apart is its multi-piece construction. With six different segments this rod can collapse down to a very easily transportable size, making it the ideal tool for the travelling bass angler. This rod offers a recommended casting weight of 1oz – 3oz.
Constructed from the same highly durable carbon blanks as the other rods in the series, and fitted with the same hard wearing chromed aluminium oxide guides, this is a rod series that has been built to last.
