The DaiwaEmcast Surf is available in three exceptional lengths. The shortest of the series is a tame 13ft. Perfect for the traditionalist who doesn’t want to quite let go of the past and ideal for the angler who wants a multipurpose distance casting tool, this rod will let you hit most of the spots you want with little effort. The middle length rod in the range comes in at a handy 14ft. This extra length enables you to reach out further than other anglers on the beach and, when paired with a distance casting reel you can comfortably achieve all the areas you desire with relative ease. The final rod in the range comes in at a whopping 15ft. This ensures that you can chuck 4oz to 8ozs as far as you like and it really is a rod made for the angler who loves distance. Since the rod is so long Daiwa has coated the joints in grip paint. This helps to maintain the structural integrity of the rod when you receive an aggressive take at distance.
As you might expect from such a long rod, the butt section of the Emcast Surf is exceptionally powerful and it is married with a responsive tip. This gives you the ability to capitalise on any take – whether it requires delicacy or a big fight to pull it to shore.
