The Hinge Rig is one of carp fishing's all time great pop-up rigs, responsible for multiple big carp captures around the world. Mark Pitchers ties his version slightly different, follow this video to learn how he does it.
Items required
Step 1
Trim off a short section of Rigidity hook length material.
Step 2
Pass both tags ends through the eye of the hook to form a loop as shown.
Step 3
Thread your micro ring swivel onto the loop, then pass the loop over the hook as shown.
Step 4
Attach your ring swivel with a one-turn blood knot, pull the knot down tight with your pulla tools, then trim off the tag end and blob with the lighter.
Step 5
Trim off your desired length of coated braid, and attach to the ring swivel with a loop knot.
Step 6
Tie a figure of 8 loops at the other end of the rig.
Step 7
Finally, attach your favorite pop-up to the rig and balance with a blob of tungsten putty as shown.
