AD Quickbite - How To Fish Prawns For Big Perch

Prawns are a wonderful bait for perch! Their fishy aroma and soft texture make them irresistible and a legered prawn, cast into the right area on a river, lake or canal, will soon be taken. Quite wary of any resistance, big perch should be targeted with a sensitive set-up. Try fishing with a fine quivertip, or with the rod pointing at the leger and the reel’s bail-arm open with a drop-off indicator fitted. Here is the rig to catch them using prawns...

Here is the step by step for the perch prawn rig.

Step 1

You will need the following.

Step 2

Slide on the run ring, buffer bead then tie on the quick change swivel.

Step 5

Attach your hooklink to the quick change swivel then clip your weight to the run ring.

Step 6

The finished rig can be deadly for big perch especially if fished over a bed of red maggots.
