If you’re an angler who can’t sit still on the bank and you’re someone who doesn’t like to let inclement weather spoil quality carp anglingtime then this is the ideal jacket for you. Designed by Kevin Nashhimself, with the help of some friends in the armed forces, the Nash Scope Ops Rain Jacket is the ultimate wet weather protection for the angler who refuses to say ‘no’.
The Nash Scope Ops Rain Jacket gets its name from the Aqua Sense 140 Outer Protect Skin (or, OPS) fabric from which it is manufactured. This fabric is rated to a hydrostatic head minimum of 10,000mm. This is the same waterproof rating as most bivvies and floatation suits, ensuring that you’re going to stay perfectly dry in even the most violent of rain storms. This fabric also offers a breathability rating of 3,000g/m2 for each 24 hour period. Breathability in waterproof fabrics is essential as it allows air flow into your waterproof without letting water in (air molecules are smaller than water). This ensures that you don’t end up sweating excessively, getting so damp inside your waterproof that you might as well not have warn it at all! For the active angler a high breathability rating like the one offered by this jacket is absolutely essential.
The Nash Scope Ops Rain Jacket isn’t just designed to keep you dry, however, and it is also specially manufactured to keep you warm, too. The collar is lined with a warm touch material and the hood can be closed tightly around your face to stop nasty draughts. This hood has a stiffened storm peak, to prevent any rain from getting in your eyes, and can be packed away into the collar of the jacket when not in use. The jacket additionally has two zip closed hand warmer pockets, which are ideal for storing all your valuables on the bank – as well as your bite alarmreceiver so you never miss out on a take.
